Although a face lift can’t stop the aging process, Dr. Sleightholm assures that it can reduce the most visible signs of aging.

Skin changes as we grow older. The dermis gets thinner. Both collagen and elastin break down, causing the skin to loosen. It doesn’t spring back so easily, and it’s more susceptible to the effects of gravity.

A facelift creates a smoother looking face and neck and a more youthful appearance.

How Will Dr. Sleightholm Perform a Face Lift?face lift

Dr. Sleightholm can perform a face lift tailored to your unique needs, whether a “standard” lift or a “mini” lift, depending on the amount of wrinkling and/or sagging.

When performing a facelift, Dr. Sleightholm will make an incision within the hairline, above the ear, and extending down around the ear lobe, ending below the hairline behind the ear. He will tighten soft tissue and facial skin, and remove excess skin. Dr. Sleightholm will use stitches to secure the layers of tissue and close the incisions.

About two weeks is required for preliminary healing, and the effects are realized over a period of months.
